Arnold & Itkin LLP announces $1,200,000 settlement for injured seaman |

Houston maritime lawyer Kurt Arnold filed suit against a large operator in the Gulf of Mexico on behalf of a floor hand who sustained a neck injury. The plaintiff required neck surgery after a pipe that came loose on an inland drilling barge hit him. The company denied medical care and responsibility for the accident, and refused to pay the injured seaman’s medical bills. The plaintiff attempted to work the issue out with the company for more than a year. When the company refused, he hired Arnold & Itkin LLP who filed suit the very same day in Galveston County Court. The seven-figure settlement was reached within ten months of filing the suit.
